The MOCMS book club met at Bryan Park Woodlawn Shelter House in Bloomington, Indiana on June 3, 2022, to discuss the book “Years of Wonder” by Geraldine Brooks.
This historical fiction selection is inspired by a true story of a small village outside of London that was hit with a plague in 1666. The village quarantined itself to stop the spread of disease and superstitions and a year of catastrophe becomes a year of wonders. The New Yorker review states, “The novel glitters…a deep imaginative engagement with how people are changed by catastrophe.”
